Registration for the 2018 Competitive Summer Season is now open. There will be a* late registration fee of $50* assessed on all registrations submitted after March 19th.
Registration CLOSED on March 31
The 2018 Competitive Summer Season begins May 1st and ends August 19th (for athletes who make it to Provincials; otherwise, ends August 6th).
This registration is for those athletes who wish to compete in swimming, diving and waterpolo in the Summer 2018 season. There will be a separate registration process for athletes wishing to register for Jr. Whalers and Splashball.
Tentative Swim Meet Dates:
Mission – May 26-27
Hope – June 9-10
Langley – June 23-24
Chilliwack – July 7-8
Agassiz – July 14-15
Abbotsford – July 21-22
Regional Meet (Abbotsford) – August 4-6
Provincial Championships – August 13-19
Waterpolo / Diving events are TBD
Water Polo is a high energy, fast paced team sport. You will be coached to develop great ball handling skills and stamina. Although swimming is essential to this sport, you do not need amazing swimming technique as you will be taught to “swim waterpolo”.
The goal of the game is to score on the opposing team and to keep them from scoring. The summer season is 2 practices a week with games and tournaments on some weekends.
If you love team sports, water, lots of fun and making new friends, you will love Water Polo.
Practice dates and times are TBD, depending on the number of athletes that register for each activity. More details will be shared on the website once the Coaches Committee has assessed the information required to make those decisions.

Crossfit Abbotsford and the Abbotsford Whalers are offering Dryland training to swimmers to help prepare them for the summer season of competition.
What: The purpose of these sessions is to improve mobility to improve stroke technique, increase strength to improve power of stroke, starts and turns, and raise lactic acid threshold to improve on sprints. Plus, create a warm-up routine that athletes can use while in the marshalling area. All this while having fun and learning new skills. Athletes will never lifting weights heavier than their school backpack until they have the ability to show proper technique for multiple reps. Some of the movements they will learn will be a proper squat, deadlift, pull-up, push-up, and box-jump. Athletes will use bands, olympic bars, kettlebells, medicine balls and rowing machines.
When: Starting February 20th, these sessions will happen every Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. at Crossfit Abbotsford in Downtown Abbotsford.
*Who: * looking to be competitive in this up and coming season. Competitive could mean a goal of going to provincials or it could mean reaching multiple Personal Best (PB) times.
How Much: 12 weeks x 55 minute session = $90. Crossfit Kids and Teen sessions typically cost closer to $10 per session.
